Le Massegros district is in the South West of the Lozère country (48) and in the North of the Languedoc Roussillon region. "Le Caussenard", is a southern inhabitant of Auvergne or a northern Languedoc one. "Lozère", is characterised by its rural origins (73000 inhabitants, 14 inhabitants per square kilometre for a total of 5168km2). Its often called the region of springs because it provides water to the Loire basin, the Garonne and the Rhône rivers. The wide variety of landscapes gives Lozère a special atmosphere. We have four geological different areas : Aubrac, Margeride and the chaotic formations of Mont Lozère; the schistose Cévennes and the calcareous Causses and Gorges. Le Massegros is located in the calcareous part of Lozère and the climate is rather pleasant. We generally have dry and warm summers, wet and cold winters and two other moderate seasons. NATIONAL MAP
